Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 2026

At Spendmemo, we take your privacy seriously. We built this product because we believe you should have clear visibility into your spending without sacrificing your personal data in return. We will never sell your financial data. We make money from your subscription, not from your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Around The Hoop LLC (“Spendmemo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our website at spendmemo.com and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use the Service, we collect:

Account information: your email address, which is used for authentication and to deliver your daily spending memos.

Payment information: when you subscribe, your payment card information is collected and processed by Stripe Inc. We do not receive or store your full credit card number. We receive only the card type, last four digits, and expiration date for display purposes.

Support communications: if you contact us for support, we collect the content of your messages along with your email address.

Information from Financial Data Providers

When you connect your financial accounts through the Service, we use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to access your financial data. Through Plaid, we receive:

  • Transaction data including merchant name, transaction amount, date, category, and pending or posted status.
  • Account metadata including institution name, account type (checking, credit card, etc.), and masked account number (last four digits only).
  • Historical transaction data for up to 24 months prior to your account connection, which we use to calculate your personal spending baselines and patterns.

We do not receive your bank login credentials. Your credentials are transmitted directly to and handled exclusively by Plaid. Plaid’s privacy practices are governed by Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy.

We do not receive full account numbers, routing numbers, or Social Security numbers through the Service.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information using cookies and similar technologies:

  • Device and browser information including IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
  • Usage data including pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL, and interactions with the Service.

Information from AI Service Providers

We use Anthropic’s Claude to generate personalized spending insights. When we process your transactions through Claude, we send anonymized transaction details (merchant names, amounts, categories, dates) and do not include your name, email address, or account credentials. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models.

2. How We Use Your Information
